A trustworthy data infrastructure for healthcare in Europe
The GAIA-X-Med initiative, which is funded by the state of Schleswig Holstein, is committed to creating a secure, data protection-compliant and trustworthy data infrastructure in the European healthcare sector. It was thus linked to the overarching GAIA-X initiative, which promotes a European cloud infrastructure for perse industries. The aim of the project was to support the digital transformation in the healthcare sector by making healthcare data accessible in a controlled and secure manner for medical research, diagnostics and therapy in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
One of GAIA-X-Med's outstanding and particularly innovative projects is the Yo-Ga-X project. This focuses on the anonymisation and pseudonymisation of health data in order to enable secure and efficient data exchange between different institutions. Yo-Ga-X is a key component of the GAIA-X ecosystem that ensures trustworthy and data protection-compliant processing of health data in the digital space.
The data trustee model (DTM) developed as part of GAIA-X-Med combined with a corresponding data ecosystem provide a comprehensive basis for the secure handling of health data. Further information is available under the following links:
